According to the manufacturer, the CURT #16046 is intended for Ram 2500/3500 trucks with the 8' bed and factory puck system. For a Ram with the 6'4" short box, we recommend the CURT A25 Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch #CUR16058, which fits the Ram factory puck system and provides 12" of slider travel for additional cab clearance when turning.
An exception may be possible if your fifth-wheel trailer uses an approved rotating/pivoting pin box, in which case a fixed hitch may be appropriate.
