Based on the dimensions you provided, I don't believe this lid will fit.
The Heng's 90008-C1 is a replacement lid specifically for Heng's/Elixir 15" x 22" escape hatches with an actual lid size of approximately 18" x 25", intended to fit escape hatches with a **17-3/8" x 24-5/8" rough opening.
Since your existing cover measures 22.5" x 15.5", it sounds like you may be measuring a different style of lid or a different manufacturer's escape hatch. A difference of several inches from the expected lid size suggests this replacement is unlikely to be compatible.
To identify the correct replacement, could you please provide:
- The manufacturer of the escape hatch (if known), or
- A photo of the hatch from the outside, and
- A photo of the hinge area (where the lid attaches)?
If there's a part number molded into the underside of the existing lid or frame, that would also help us identify the correct replacement.
