Thanks for your inquiry. If your trailer is equipped with standard free-backing drum brakes, the brakes will not engage while reversing, so no manual lockout is required.
If your trailer uses non-free-backing drum brakes, then the actuator can apply the brakes in reverse. The Demco 8705001 does not include a manual reverse lockout feature. In those applications, a reverse lockout solenoid or a compatible manual lockout kit would be required.
