You can expect some wind noise at highway speeds, but Weather Guard has designed this rack to minimize it.
The 1175-52-02 features a welded front airfoil (wind deflector) specifically intended to reduce wind turbulence and noise compared to a standard square-bar rack.
That said:
- At city speeds, most users report little to no noticeable noise.
- At highway speeds (100 km/h / 60+ mph), some additional wind noise is normal with any overhead truck rack, particularly when the rack is unloaded.
- Carrying ladders or other cargo can also change the amount and type of wind noise you hear.
Overall, the integrated airfoil makes this one of the quieter heavy-duty steel work racks on the market, but it won't be completely silent—some increase in wind noise compared to having no rack installed is to be expected.
