Having the factory soft top will not prevent installation of the TrailFX JL012T roof rack. This rack is an external exoskeleton-style design that mounts to the Jeep's body and rear frame/bumper mounting points rather than relying on the hard top for support. In fact, the installation instructions include provisions for both hard top and soft top models, with only a minor difference in the placement of the supplied rubber support bumpers during installation.
In terms of performance, the rack's 300 lb maximum load capacity is unchanged because the load is carried by the rack itself—not the soft top. The only consideration is that, depending on your soft top style (factory Sunrider, premium soft top, etc.), you may have reduced ability to fully fold or operate the soft top while the rack is installed. The rack itself is compatible, but access to the top can be more limited than on a Jeep without a rack.
