- Dynamic Load (capacity while in motion) – 300 Pound
- Static Load (capacity while not in motion) – 550 Pound
To also consider, the real capacity is the lesser of all components involved, you should consult your vehicle manual to confirm what your vehicle can support.
Regarding sealing, we found from the instructions provided with this answer that it seems the roof rack system does change the way the hard top seals to the body. The kit requires installing spacer washers between the hard top and the body mounting points, which slightly lifts the top from its factory position. To compensate for this, the manufacturer also includes thicker replacement foam seals and an additional tailgate seal as part of the installation process
Because of this design:
- The hard top no longer compresses against the body exactly like the OEM setup.
- Proper installation and alignment of the supplied seals is very important.
- Minor changes in wind noise or sealing characteristics can occur if the seals are not installed correctly or if the top is not evenly torqued down.
